Beylo is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that connects people who need items with those who own them. Whether you need camping gear for a weekend trip or want to earn money from items gathering dust, Beylo makes it simple and safe.

How do I list an item for rent?

Listing is quick and easy. Simply download the app, take a few photos of your item, set your price and availability, and publish. Your listing will be visible to renters in your area within minutes.

Is it safe to rent from strangers?

Safety is our priority. All users are verified through ID checks and phone verification. You can also read reviews from previous transactions and message users before committing to a rental.

How do payments work on Beylo?

All payments are handled securely through the app. Renters pay upfront, and owners receive their earnings after the rental is completed. No cash exchanges or awkward negotiations needed.

How do I create an account and verify my identity (18+)?

Create an account using our Beylo App with your basic details. We may ask for your date of birth where needed to confirm you're 18+. Business users may also provide company details (e.g., VAT number).

When you book an item, you enter a binding rental agreement with the Owner. Beylo is a neutral marketplace and isn't a party to that rental agreement — it only facilitates bookings and payments.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

If the Owner cancels or doesn't approve, you get a full refund. If the Renter cancels: more than 48h before start gets a full refund, 48-24h gets 50% refund, less than 24h gets no refund of rental charges.

When am I charged and how do payouts work?

Payments are processed via Stripe. Renters authorise Beylo/Stripe to charge rental charges. Owner payouts are processed through Stripe to the Owner's bank account, typically instantly or within a few business days.

Do you charge platform fees?

Yes. Service Fee (7% of rental price, min €1, max €50) and a payment processing fee (2.9% + €0.30) shown at checkout.

What if an item is damaged, missing, or returned late?

Renters must return items on time and in the same condition; Owners must accurately describe item condition. If a dispute arises, Beylo will investigate and may capture/hold funds while the dispute is resolved.

What data do you collect, and how can I access/delete it (GDPR)?

We collect account, booking/transaction, device/usage and communications data; payments are handled by Stripe. You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection by contacting us.

Beylo is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace. People in Mallorca list things they own but rarely use, and other people rent them for a few days instead of buying. A paddleboard for the weekend or a drill for an afternoon. The app is free, works on iPhone and Android, and runs in the browser at rent.beylo.app.

How renting works

Open the app and search for what you need, or simply browse what is listed near you. If you are not sure yet, widen the search radius or wander through the categories, which is where the surprises live. When you find your listing, pick your dates in its calendar and send the request. The owner confirms it. Payment is handled inside the platform, so you never wire money to a stranger or hand over an envelope of cash.

Then comes the good part, the handover. You meet wherever suits you both, the owner shows you how the thing works and you take it away. Returning it is the same in reverse. A paddleboard picked up in Palma at nine in the morning is on the water by ten.

How listing works

The other side is just as quick. Take a few photos in decent light, write an honest description and set a price you think is fair. You decide which days it is available. Listing is free, and Beylo takes a small commission only when you earn, so a listing with no bookings costs you nothing. The paddleboard that has spent two winters hanging in the garage could pay for a few dinners before the season ends.

What makes it safe

Money never changes hands directly. Payment stays inside the platform, which leaves a record of who paid what and when. Profiles belong to real people, with a name and a face. And because the handover happens in person, you see the item and its owner before you take anything home. Renting from a neighbour in Santa Catalina feels closer to borrowing from someone you know than to buying from a faceless website.

The quickest way to see how Beylo works is to open it and look at what sits ten minutes from your front door. Today it might be a bike, tomorrow a kayak. That depends on your neighbours, which is rather the point.
